Not all race paddocks are classy

This was the paddock we had to use in 1990 when I did the Southern 100 in the Isle of Man. It looks very very nice but it was a cut corn field so everytime you nelt down to work on the bike you would get stabbed in the knee. You didn't want to drop anything as it would dissapear. Looks very dry and sunny here but race day in poured down all day so our nice dry paddock became a bog. Not sure why I'm holding the door of my mates Transit on, but lucky for me he lent me his van for the week as mine stripped the distributer drive on the night we were due to sail over over to the island. Happy Daze. My 350 Ducati is on the left next to my 250. Didn't enjoy the wet race but at least I came away with the best newcomers award that year.
