Mick lost it half way down the straight going almost flat out he said at the time sliding through the cornfield on the inside of the track saw the bike coming down from high up he just got out of the way in time.. The Marshals couldn't find him at the time.. Medical centre then Thetford hospital with concussion and bruising a long journey home that night...
I was OK just bruises..
Out of our team of three Ron was the unlucky one his last race at Castle Combe on a brand new Monard front row of grid run and bump start he fel off at low speed to be run over by the following pack broken arm and leg forced him to retire altogether.. I packed up shortly after.. Such was racing back then lost a few friends..
