That is the whole point of "laid up" or the Accidental damage, F & T cover mentioned earlier - covers a vehicle for all the risks other than road use liabilities.

I used to have my (non road legal) trials bikes on such policies and one did (eventually) pay out when my last trails bike was stolen from my B-i-L's garage.
