About that sign, though ... if I put my deerstalker cap on and deduce for a moment ... Why would anyone steal a sign with your name on it in foot-high letters? If they were just stealing it to sell it by the pound, it would have gone into the clapper years ago. What kind of thief would display a big sign that announces "I'M A THIEF AND I STOLE THIS FROM THIS GUY DAVID!"?

I think that it was standing facing away from a mover on a truck during the move, up against a wall, and just got overlooked, and by the time someone figured out it wasn't just a patch on the truck body, it was too late ....

At any rate, sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug ... !
