Our application of this process was in the manufacture of housings for portable ticket machines in the mid 80's and worked pretty well.

If you ever travelled on a train and was given a ticket from a grey coloured machine that the ticket collector wore over his shoulder that was the machine - known as PORTIS / SPORTIS - Portable Ticket Issuing System, I also did the drawings for the small castings used for the printing mechanism in the machine.
