The old British iron must have been pretty reliable after all, to venture out into that never ending terrain.
Hope the scenery is better than in W.A. where all you see there now, since the removal of trees for crop production, is a never ending succession of salt pans. Removing the trees allowed the water table to rise bringing ancient deposits of salt to the surface and ruining the soil.
