The Guzzi V8 was without doubt a fantastic piece of engineering, had development continued who knows what the result might have been. The cost of these exotic machines, was getting more than the top Italian factories could afford, so in 1957 a truce was called.
Rob said what about the size of the valves, I Know it was ten years later, but if you want small, how about about the 125 five cylinder Honda, with "four" valves per cylinder. To put that into perspective it equates to a twenty cylinder five hundred, with eighty valves.
