There is Gorse which burns easily a large area destroyed but kept back by natural fire breaks farmers on the old days did Swaleing burning back the gorse to stop it covering the Moor and also harbouring ticks which are dangerous for animals and people (Lymes deseas) also stopped sheep dipping all part of the EU rules and the greenies.. The grass on the Moor burns easily even when wet though there are reports that this may have been started deliberately.. The main problem with this area was the military ranges which was bordering it and there is unexploded ordinance I have found live first war shells still up there and live rounds in clips...
There is another fire burning in Cornwall at the moment.. And a nature reserve was destroyed yesterday could be wild camping???
