At secondary school we sometimes used to go on a "Cross Country" run. Something like about 5 miles I reckon it was.

Used to take in some of the local town (Shepton Mallet), and local lanes, all completley unsupervised, never get away with doing it these days.

There was one guy who I used to know quite well - not very academical, or bright, but he had the ability to start / finish the course at the same rate so usually ended up first to finish every time.

I usually ended up around mid field / tail end, used to enjoy the running and have often thought about going out running again.
