... I've probably been in contact with more people in the last year than anyone on this list, by a factor of 10.
Our family has gotten together a dozen times, 10 - 20 people all together in a group, kids tumbling over us, people hugging, never a mask.
Christmas Eve service, 600 people in the church together, no masks, no distancing ....
I belong to several organizations that meet each month. Twenty to fifty people in a room together, no masks, no distancing, shaking hands as normal.
A recent political convention I attended, 100 people in the room, a couple of old people with masks, no one else. Everyone shaking hands, no distancing.
Five local restaurants totally ignore the "requirements", which are unenforceable anyway. We eat at one of those whenever we go out. No masks.
Our local repair shops, a bookstore, all of the gun shops, several general stores take no precautions, no one wears a mask.
I've never worn a mask, never will. About half of my family have had COVID; many others, including me, have had SOMETHING that might have been COVID but have never gotten tested for it. Never anything more than the flu, some with the smell/taste thing, otherwise three days and done.
ONE guy that I ride with, a good friend in Ohio, had COVID that infected his intestine and put him in the hospital. No, of course I don't want that, nor do I want the cancers that several other riding friends have got.
So, in a nutshell, if the Media and Government weren't screaming in panic and manufacturing numbers and passing bans and trying to scare everyone to death, I literally would not know that there was even such a thing as COVID, other than being a weird sort of flu. As several have mentioned, people are starting to figure out that the "death toll" is completely made up ... died "with COVID" is sold the same as died "OF COVID", every single flu death is called "COVID", and the main reason that the hospitals here even got close to "filling up" was that people were scared shyteless and running for an ambulance if they had the sniffles.
So no, no vaccine, I don't think. I'm way more afraid of their motivation for sticking me with it than I am of any possible consequences of COVID. It's been a YEAR, for God's sake, it's going away WELL before anyone has gotten stuck, and I've still no reason to be scared of it.
I know that sounds like crazy talk to many of you who live, breathe, eat, and drink the daily reports and curves and statistics and list and tolls and surges as the main issue in your life, but it you look at the reality around you through a lens other than what the infotainment and government people hand you, you see a little differently.
Cheer up mate it may never happen. It'll be right.
