I have a 4" non quick release Record and a 4" non quick release unbranded Chinese version on a swivel base. Can't say there is much to choose between them in terms of fit or performance. The Record came via a friend who worked there so wasn't too expensive, though it was still 3 times the price of the Chinese autojumble purchase. It isn't 3 times better.
Aldi & Lidl do cast iron 4" non quick relese bench vices most years for around £20. For work I bought a couple of Cromwell's basic non quick release import vices & they have stood up to several years of abuse without issues. The Clarke cast iron vices look similar to the Cromwell, but with the advantage of a flat anvil area behind the fixed jaw - at around £25 for a 4" fixed base or £29 with a swivel base they are cheaper than the Cromwell equivalents.
