I don't mind Henry in general, and his mate's, Sam and Allan, obviously know what they are doing. But it leaves a lot to be desired as to what a total rebuild of any motorcycle actually involves, but as said it's a TV show.
I did follow the Goldie rebuild, and was rather surprised to see the TT carburettor being refitted with no tickler plunger in the float chamber top, and thought this will be interesting when it comes to the fire up, as you can be assured, you won't start one from cold without it. But the big moment of the "first" fire up, which is surely a high point of any complete rebuild, was not shown? From what I recall, at no point did you see anyone starting it.
I have rebuilt quite a few Goldstars over the years, and to get them running properly, more often than not, will require a bit of tweaking, but when sorted, for what it's worth, I think they are a joy to ride.
