I always used engine enamel on anything around motorcycles; it`s petrol proof.

Engine enamel is a paint formulated for any part of a motorcycle that is exposed to excessive heat like the engine. It contains ceramic resins that allow the paint to be exposed to temperatures up to 260°c (500°F) without blistering, flaking, cracking or peeling.
