They failed my Sirocco on the MOT- perished rubbers on the drop arms. Smelt a rat straight away. They were well taken aback when I said I would do them myself, simple enough done them on other cars. When I got the first one out I could see where it had been jagged with a screwdriver the dratabs, no slack, no water/grit ingress. Finished changing it but was stuffed for days. Number one son volunteered assistance to do the other side. Alehlulia ! I reluctantly accepted and glad I did. Prepped it all, jacked up, wheel off, tools laid out just left him to do the crawling underneath and glad I did. Have always enjoyed doing my own mechanicing but like you the reapers looking over my shoulder now so seems I have to yield.
Should I file a complaint with the dvla or will they just close ranks. If I can be bothered that is.
