Looks like a prime candidate for - "Dunno, chuck it in the skip".
Excellent save, now to find a coil to do.
But before you do, I seem to remember that it was found that perspiration from the winders fingers would cause corrosion after a while,
so I spose you will have to get your perspiration checked for acidity levels first.
