I don't know who I was more impressed by, the criminal dude for being able to pick his way through those streets and against traffic, or the cop who was able to stay with him.
It's not always easy to react to abrupt turns and flat-track changes of direction.
They went down one of those streets 3 times, I recognized the turns.
The dude had to be thinking
WHO IS THIS GUY!!!???? I'd have given up too ...
