Why are manufacturers making electric cars with ridiculously high output motors. ie the Audi e-tron GT with two motors 469bhp & top speed of 152mph? Surly the aim should be to keep the power down so that the range can increase. The Audi is reported to have a range of 295 miles, with less powerful motors, a lighter car with less gizmos to drain current it should be possible to get a range of over 500 miles, maybe more if top speed was limited to 70 mph. After all the aim of electric cars is to save the planet, not attempt speed records.
