>Daylight Savings Time is one of those grossly stupid things
No, you just don't happen to live far enough north (or south) for it to matter to you. There are other people living further north (and south) of you to whom DST makes a real difference.
>Everyone knows that it's like trying to make a rope longer by cutting a bit off one end and splicing it onto the other end, but we do it anyway, at the cost of a lot of confusion and extra futzing around with manual and automatic clocks twice a year ...
So, no, that's just wrong and/or selfish.
>But no one seems to know how to stop it.
>There are states and even counties in the US that do not use DST, right next to states and counties that DO, and they are in a constant state of confusion.
>We ought to just leave it at one time and not change it anymore. I don't even care which.
>But we can't. We don't know how. It just has to stay like it is for some reason, and no one knows how to make it stop going ...
Americans have had well over three hundred years to organise independence, we could pop back if you like? We could organise your DMV while we're there?
