Not tried such an arrangement, though the Moto Guzzi California 1100i I had for a few months had footboards that I struggled to get along with - never liked not having the rear brake instantly available, or the "heel & toe" gearlever. Had the bike not been grossly unreliable to the point that I didn't trust it at all, I would have looked to change it to a more "normal" footrest arrangement.

Mrs B's V7 Special Mk3 has what feels like a very forward mounted arrangement to me - on the one occasion I rode it I didn't manage to get feet on pegs after moving off without having to look where they were. I felt the same trying (statically) Mark Dicker's V7 Classic when he first got it & that was the reason I bought a Breva 750 rather than a Classic - the Breva had the footrests mounted lower & further back than the Classic and was "all day" comfortable as a result.

Best "all day" comfort for me is a riding position that puts feet below core & allows for some of your body weight to be taken by your legs & not all on your lower back / tailbone area.

Maybe you will get more comforatble with it with more experience ?
