Know it well. The owners handbook of my Le Mans actually recommended not using it!
I assumed that Guzzi meant with the engine running in case the torque reaction of the inline crank rocked the bike enough for the stand to flip up.
But regardless on that possibility it didn't inspire confidence in any situation being so short & upright.
Mind you sitting on the bike you did have to be double jointed to find it with your foot so the chances of me using it were slim.
Bizarrely my Tonti T3 Cali had 2 of their long & stable sidestands, one on each side. No idea if that was an optional extra at some time but I've never seen it on another.
