Really? The NHS should devise a secure system of unforgeable passes so you can go to a pub?
>and even more so, full blown Identity Cards to be carried by all.
When the vast majority of British adults have an ID card - aka a photocard driving licence - the cash-strapped government should devise a secure system of unforgeable Identity Cards that - like banknotes and high-value coins - have to be changed regularly when enough forgers have figured out hoe to forge them?
Many so-called adults can't find their photocard driving licences when required. Will it be mandatory to carry this new ID card, so you can be stopped randomly with the demand, "Papers, please"? That's going to go down a storm, particularly on this Forum.
Or, if you aren't carrying your ID card when demanded, you'll be given a (another newly-devised) version of the HORT1 producer to produce it at a police station; of course, the police will welcome another new task - chasing members of the public who have failed to produce their ID cards within the requisite seven days?
I've a better idea ... some old farts should spend less time navel-gazing ...
