Re: Driverless cars o/t

There isn't one. These cars aren't "driverless" and never will be. They may "work" in limited areas with clean paint stripes on the road, extensive GPS mapping, and a guy with his head up and hands ready sitting behind the wheel, but for general use? With people "driving" who just want to play on their smartphone? With stripes that come and go in the snow, or due to repairs, or transitioning from roads that have stripes to roads that don't? With trillions of possible combinations of inputs, and decisions that need to be made for ALL of them? And every decision has to be right every time, or there will be a lawsuit that will ruin the auto manufacturer?
It's never going to happen, and that's not just the wishful moanings of a frustrated Luddite who wishes you still had to hand-crank cars so that only real men could drive them. Anyone who takes off the "Gee Whiz!", Progressive, "Change Is Always Good!", "Everything's Amazing" glasses and looks at the facts can see it.
