But we were on the road before 10 - me on the RE 500 Classic & Mrs B on her BMW R65LS. By the time we returned around 4.30, 200 miles had been covered around North Yorkshire. Filling up on our return showed that the RE had consumed exactly 10 litres, giving just over 90mpg - the BMW took 4 litres more.
A lot of bikes out and, by the way some were being ridden, I would guess that not all would have made it back in one piece. At least being on the RE I was in "chilled out" mode, so just let them get on with it. Only saw 3 speed camera vans.
Any interesting conversation at our lunch stop at Fimber picnic spot was made difficult by the excessively loud exhausts on many of the arriving & departing bikes.
Weather was OK, but not great - low 20's, with variable amounts of cloud & a bit of a breeze.
