You don't need it to move around GB. You only need it if you travel to a country that requires proof of vaccination before letting you in.
This isn't any different to several other vaccinations that've been around my entire life - yellow fever, typhoid, cholera and smallpox were the common ones when I lived in India and after I left but went there or Africa during the course of work. Smallpox has since been eradicated but vaccination against the various varieties of hepatitis have since become a requirement for entry into several countries.
I appreciate that just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you, but it isn't with vaccination certificates.
