This is now a nature reserve and important resting place for rare birds. When i were a lad, it was the local dump and filled with everything that went out in the bin. It had hundreds of glass bottles being washed out from the banks, hence the large amount of broken glass all over the place. I did have a large cut on my foot aged 11 but my fault for wearing sandles. All concreted now to prevent more glass coming from the bank.
It was a great place to play with the 3 foot spoil heaps to ride bicycle over.
Great place to rake cockles and in 5 minutes, half a bucketful. Plenty of school bass in 5 foot of water on medium tides and easy bait digging.
