Really surprised me. It was like 2019. No face masks or any covid distancing. People were enjoying the summer evening.
I must admit it did feel strange and I couldn't help keeping my distance even when chatting with people, but I was a minority.
Some interesting bikes and lots of club stands.
There was a Royal Enfield stand amongst them and I had a good look at the Interceptor, Meteor and Himalayan. To me the Meteor looked cheap and a bit odd. The Interceptor looked better at a distance as the detailing lets it down IMO. The 2021 Himalayan in black looked good, very utility. I had a 2018 one in the summer of 2019 and never thought I'd be back looking at them again. My old one was reliable, but I seem to have conveniently forgotten the issues that made me sell it!
I'm looking for an allrounder to replace my Ducati Monster for 2022 and though a Honda CB500X is currently top of the list there is a lot to be said for the quirky Himalayan even though I know there are some things I could struggle to live with. Heart says RE, brain says Honda. Hoping there are lots of new model announcements this winter so a better choice for spring.
