Rather short-sighted of the dealer - maybe they just don't care because they can sell everything they can get without trying at the moment ? But the current "good times" won't last for ever and that kind of attitude will come back to haunt them sooner or later. How many more hacked off customers will buy from someone else next time ?
I'm fortunate - my local Enfield dealer goes the extra mile to be helpful & I have never had a problem with getting warranty issues sorted. Any delays are usually down to Moto GB being able to supply the bits.
But dealer attitudes do change - between us we bought 3 BMWs & a trials bike from Alan Jefferies when they were a multi-franchise dealer. They had customer "launch" nights by invitation, with refreshments, followed by test ride days. Very open & very friendly - Mrs B bought her R65LS after we called in late January in the car & they loaned her some riding kit to take it out there & then on a test ride - deal done on our verbal description of the condition of her Moto Guzzi V50. Then they went to the solus BMW Motorrad glass & chrome showroom model and became less friendly - last time we went in for a browse it was beneath the sales staff to talk to us - no engagement or interest at all. Alan Jefferies is somewhere we ride past without stopping now.
ps. How is the Supa 5 coming along ?
