I've had mighty good luck lately with "Anaerobic Gasket Compounds" like Loctite 515 or Loctite 518, that stay liquid in the presence of air, but turn into gasket sealer when pressed between flanged mating surfaces like engine or tranny cases, primary and valve covers, etc.
But if you've got one that suits you, go with it!
Be interesting to see what it takes to get the bearings out of the cases. If you're not re-using them, of course, you can use the inner race to help tap them out with the cases as hot as you can stand to get them. As has been mentioned, they're supposed to drop out ...
