Otoh, people leave security bolts/"rim locks" out of triple back wheels and they don't spin even an original Dunlop or Jones chromed rim inside the tyre ...
I've experienced rear wheel punctures both with and without security bolts. While either is a natural laxative, with security bolts is definitely preferable. With security bolts, Alan's tyre would not have come off the rim, never mind the tube come out and wrap 'round other bits of bike.
Shown how to deal with security bolts by a pro tyre fitter years ago, they simply aren't a problem when changing a tyre.
