Mine is a Viking lift i bought new 20 years ago. The 20 quid jack is still working perfect. I added a front wheel chock for safety and widened the ramp so it is 2 foot wide which allows quite a bit of steer as it goes on and off. Top is a fibre board but i have fitted some stainless sheet where the centre stand is to avoid gouging it to much. Most of the lifts are all steel. Just bear in mind that these fixed hydraulic jacks, if they go wrong can make the lift useless where a separate 20 quid jack is replaceable same day and should last 20 years anyway. I would hate to be sourcing spare parts for a chines made fixed jack.
