Using mainly the tools I carried on my bike, we pretty-much dismantled the VFR - electric-start was working, there was a spark but the fuel pump wasn't. He was just about resigned to calling the breakdown when, looking around the bike, I happened to spot the kill switch wasn't qui...te flush with the surround (I'm talking raised maybe a millimetre or two - barely noticeable). Pressed it flush and the pump promptly pissed fuel everywhere ... Reassembled everything and he was away.
Ferkin' ridiculous, some of the 'safety' features on modern bikes ...
