EVs are probably going to be the best thing for car manufacturers since the invention of the car. The integral batteries, with limited lifespan mean the new car will be scrap quite quickly as the key component has a limited span - in real life probably much more limited than they appear in tests since we will all too up more often than necessary and therefore wear the battery out faster.
No-one will want to buy a secondhand one and so the secondhand market will be virtually eliminated. Great news for manufacturers who can sell very expensive new cars on HP with little secondhand competition.
And the consumer...?
