Main reason was because of the really vicious kick back.
Well with points you start on full advance whereas the lectronic system holds it off till 1000rpm. Wunderbar.
Later found that the p/owner who had done a super resto on it had omited to check the squish band clearance so the c/r was much too high
that plus ignition advance being at max, no wonder.
I had retarded it to some effect but didn't give a thought to the c/r.
