We are starting to see huge thousand-acre industrial solar farms here in Virginia, replacing green fields and hills. It looks like a post-apocalyptic nightmare, and will not result in ONE KILOWATT of shutdown of fossil, hydro, or nuclear, because we need the SAME energy when the sun's not shining or the wind's not blowing as we do when it IS bright and windy ... and you can't "turn off" a power plant on a daily or weekly basis. They don't work that way. They have to stay "hot" or they don't operate.
But, after all, it's not about "Green". Follow the money.
