For whatever reason, I've been carrying that thing around for 47 years, unable to throw it away, figuring I might use it for something.
But sometimes, it's just time .... When I think of the truckloads of stuff that my grandparents and parents kept from the 1920s to today, thinking that someone would want it, that ended up being given away, recycled, or thrown away, or just left in the shed when we sold the home place, I started thinking "What am I doing with all this old stuff? It doesn't make any sense."
"Life management" classes will tell you to keep something on hand, like in the house, until you haven't used it for six months, at which time you move it to the shed or to storage.
If you haven't used it for two years, throw it away. I do the same thing, except my time scales are 20 years, and 45 years respectively ....
