Depandant on model, it may be programmable to be pre-heated for you before you get in as well. Downside is that range can be reduced by up to a third in cold weather.
I have been looking at a possible change to an electric car for a short while - the availability of less expensive (I won't say "cheaper", as they are not cheap ! ) longer range BEVs is making them look a bit more appealing.
But they are only cheaper to run if you have access to cheap electricity - around 4p a mile at my current home tariff rate (no supermarket close by for a free top up), but up to 20p per mile at some fast chargers. My current diesel is currently around 12p per mile for fuel, so there is possibility for a saving in operating costs going electric.
The "less expensive" options would not be of interest to Lannis, as most are of Chinese manufacture - Western manufacturers are currently (!) obsessed with producing stupidly overpowered, over priced "top end" cars, rather than affordable "real world" versions for the masses.
