I'm trying to think now, was there ever ANY vehicle that wasn't just an old used car or bike at one time?
Vincents were as cheap as chips in the 1960s and early 70s. I passed up a Hemi 'Cuda in 1976 for $300 - it was apart but complete. Look those barstewards up NOW!
My great uncle, just after WWII, bought dozens of Model T Fords at $5 or $10 dollars each, running, and drove them till they fell apart or used the motors to run pumps, etc. $10,000 each today.
Citroen 2CVs, on and on.
I'll bet even Brough Superior SS100s were relatively affordable at one time.
Maybe original AC Cobras didn't bottom out at pocket money, I don't remember, but they weren't a million bucks each ... !!
