Worked my ass off from the time I was 16 years old. Married a fantastic girl and we've supported each other for 46 years now. Lived in cheap apartments and an old tenant house until we moved into a 14'x70' trailer and then spent every spare moment for 5 long years building our house with our own hands.
Stuck with my job, showed up for work every day, saved our money, bought two new cars in 40 years, didn't buy any of the crap that our neighbors did, raised our own gardens, did our own work on cars and bikes, cut our own wood to heat our house instead of paying for gas and electricity ...
... and retired at age 60.
It's all just luck, isn't it?
