Maybe the one on the garage had started to deteriorate, but the 2 x 18w battens are an improvement.
Think I may have noticed the darkening / greying that you mentioned in the panels at work as the old neon panels were replaced by LED panels some years ago. I'll make a point of looking the next time I have to go into the office.
Who needs a signature anyway......
