No Charles. I think you may be referring to his business partner who passed away maybe 5 or 6 years ago - could be longer ago; (you know how the years fly by).
The founder, Bill Brown still runs the business which is very successful. He has several Brit bikes of various marques and posts helpfully on the Jampot forums as 'Groily'.
