It was pretty quiet Jerry - the chrome end can contained an absorption baffle and was packed with fibreglass.
It susprising how rapidly the "Zed" reaches 60, useable power starts at about 3000 RPM and tails off at about 6000. It is a dead smooth ride though thanks to the rubber mouted engine.
Think I will have to call it Walter the MZ in future 
Who needs a signature anyway......
