All very good points. I'm glad you mentioned not to take too much advantage of the local booze and to not touch whisky. The legal drinking age in the U.S. is 21. My 21 year old d.daughter tried a drink on her birthday this year and says she can take it or leave it. She hasn't had a second drink. Her sister who is 19 (but will turn 20 the end of this month) on the other hand is looking forward to a distillery tour in Edinburgh that promises a whisky tasting. It is part of the tour package. I plan to give her a little talk tomorrow night and hope she takes my words of guidance to heart.

I've told them that this will be a trip they remember for the rest of their lives. 50 years ago, I was stationed in northern Italy while in the USAF. I traveled a lot and have many fond memories of places I visited. Hopefully they will experience some of that on this trip.

That was a good point about being careful while crossing roads. That is something that could easily be overlooked if distracted.
