Saw a few other bikes on the road & the carpark at Squires in Sherburn-in-Elmet (Northern equivalent of Box Hill - popular meeting point with a cafe) was about half full - probabaly as the weather was generally cool & cloudy, but a full-on downpour around Sherburn.
Changing the centrestand-less Guzzi rear tyre was the PITA it usually is - compounded by the tyre supplier / fitters making a hash of things. Over 2 hours to change the tyre, as the fitter broke the valve on the inner tube getting it out and they didn't have another in stock. They did source one locally, but had to send a driver out to get it, then when I checked the rotation arrows before leaving found they had fitted the new tyre backwards. At least they didn't charge for the replacement inner tube !
It is very nice to be able to stop smoothly on the Interceptor - no more judders & pogo-ing to a stop with a warped disc. The cartridge emulators have made an appreciable difference too - the fork responds much faster to sharp ridges than before, with less in the way of shocks transfered to the handlebars. The emulators may be able to be tuned further, but I will wait a couple of thousand miles to let the new springs that came in the kit settle in before changing things - the fork action on the factory settings is noticably improved over stock as it is.
This has, however, highlighted that the OE rear shocks are now the weak link - probably more expense !
Home early-ish & got both bikes washed & dried, as the weather in these parts isn't looking great for the next 2-3 days.
