Terribly sad, but as said; if that's their thing who's to say that they shouldn't take the risks?

I doubt that I'm alone on here but I'm not in any sense a 'biker' and have no interest at all in speed or any sort of racing whether it's bikes, horses, cars, athletics, cycling.......

My fascination is solely in 50+ year old European bikes with their rudimentary engineering, idiosyncracies and challenges and as means of basic adventuring, primarily in foreign parts.
Although I have a modern bike I get little pleasure from 'going for a ride' on it but only use it as a convenience for quick and economical trips into busy towns. It has hardly been out of the shed during the lockdowns and not at all since last October.
A couple of my chums have been spectating at the TT for very many years and from hearing their accounts of the trip they seem to enjoy the sense of occasion, the atmosphere and camaraderie as much if not more than the brief glimpses of bikes hurtling past.
