It seems odd (well, not that odd as it's such a money-spinner for IoM) that bikes of such incredible power are considered safe to race on this course. I guess they are 200bhp or so by now - given the tiny, tiny margins available for error, I'm always surprised more don't succumb. They are obviously incredible riders but we are happy to enforce safety in other areas of danger: seat belts, speed limits etc.
I'm not really one to judge as the idea of racing seems insane to me (and I know that road riding seems insane to many racers!) so I'm unlikely to be objective but it does seem like an activity akin to the thrills and costs of gladiator fighting.
