Thats a very valid observation by Pantherman!
I would investigate further even if new coils are cheap as chips (which I doubt they are!).
I'm not sure what the best way of testing coils is = I've heard different methods from different sources and ended up confused but then my knowledge of electrics is patchy.
My course of action would be to borrow know good coils from another bike(s) and see if the problem persists or is cured.
