The day before I was supposed to leave for our 24th Annual Three State Mountain Ride (which I've never missed), the doctor called and said "Your Calcium Score came back with the highest number I've ever seen, we're scheduling you for some tests and procedures!"
(Calcium Score is a CAT-scan that detects Calcium in the area of your heart. There shouldn't be any there. If it IS there, it could be inside your coronary arteries).
So I had to cancel the ride ... and then he told me that my Nuclear Stress Test would be in two weeks, and to hang tight till then and not do anything foolish. Well, instead of that, I went on a 6 day bike ride on my Guzzi with 4 other guys. ("Well, at least he went doing something he loved".
Got back safe and sound, and the Nuclear Stress Test was much more positive, so I'm going back tomorrow to see what's next. Feeling fine at the moment though a bit more aware of my mortality than I was a month ago .... !
To make up for dropping off the face of the IKBA with no notice and having people wonder whether I was just pissed off about something or was I dead, I'm posting the link to the pictures taken (not by me) on the trip, which was a 1500 mile round trip to a Mutton Roast where they roast 2000 pounds of sheep and it gets eaten in an hour.
