As part of the activities of a Moto Guzzi rally once, we went on a tour of the "Mack" truck factory and museum in Hagerstown, MD. They had a great collection of Mack trucks from the starting of the company.

It was interesting to see the evolution of the transmission and drive systems, and to think of those drivers taking a 120 HP truck with a dual-range 20 speed transmission, no air conditioning, no power brakes or steering, up over the Appalachian Mountains on roads where you can see your own taillight on the hairpins ...
