Probably answer my own question here.

Putting the new tyres on the DT and both wheels had bead clamps fitted.

As far as I can see they are a nause - I have no intention of green laning, or thrashing the nuts off it continuousley so cant see that they are really needed, they can also make tyre fitting a bigger pain.

The H2 had one fitted to the rear - I say had because when it had the last new year tyre I never re fitted it and not had any probs.

I can see them serving a purpose if you run low tyre pressures, or thrash it, but for "normal" day to day use cant see much point.

What's the opinion ?
