Occasional lurker here.
I sorry to say I can't remember under which name he posted but the IRL John Phillip has passed away of pneumonia and COPD.
John was very active on the original forum, he attended MM gatherings and took part in at least one of Woody's battlefield tours. If you have met him you'll remember he was difficult to ignore, had a very gammy right leg, and many opinions
If you hadn't met him, under the crusty persona was a very nice bloke and a true friend.
You might also remember him by his transport, which included a Vincent, a Laverda Jota 1200 anniversary and the world's tattiest Kawasaki GT550.
His family have asked me to point out that his funeral will be at Falconwood/Eltham Crematorium (Crown Woods Way, London, SE9 2AZ, UK), on Tuesday 27 September at 13:00.
The hearse will be leaving Sidcup Rugby Club (Crescent Farm, Sydney Road DA14 6RA ) at 12:00 to take him to the Crematorium. The family would like it if there could be a motorcycle escort (any make or vintage), and the Vincent Owners Club have agreed that they will provide tea & coffee from about 11:30. (Cars are welcome also, or can go straight to the Crem).
After the service, we will return to the Rugby Club. Which has a bar.
Good luck all.
